Getting Started: The Keys to an Effective Learning Process

It's not just about the time invested. Here are our recommendations for effective learning:

  1. REPEAT - Revisit what you've learned in the lab in the following week ideally, and every time you practice since: you'll notice it gets easier to remember.

  2. FOCUS ON THE BIGGER PICTURE - When studying anatomical structures, do not focus solely on how they look, but on how they relate to the surrounding structures, for example: what's more anterior/ posterior/ lateral? Do different structures have common paths, origins or insertions?

  3. INTEGRATE - The anatomical structures repeat themselves in the different labs. Use what you've learned in a certain module to better understand another.

  4. ENJOY - Study with friends, find games and songs, read more on what interests you, have fun!
